Gun crimes are becoming more common every day. The whole issue of gun control becomes a serious part of each case; adding on to the mental stress. Now that school shootings have become a weekly event, the communities are feeling vulnerable to the soaring costs to attempt to make a school property safe. The typical psych profile of a student shooter is being challenged by the victims. On-lookers become susceptible to acquiring PTSD; the same as soldiers in the military. The question of the cause of the rapid increase in school shootings has evolved into the reality of exposure to this violence is affecting younger and younger children. A recent shooting case happening in a day care center has now made every age of children at risk for being in such an incident. Parents must be realistic and know it could happen in any community any where at any time. This threat is real, and it is affecting every witness in every gun crime. Our BSW Technique has proven it is the only intervention that does not scare the children to learn the technique.

We did a pilot project in Washington state in multiple public schools. The school officials were amazed how quickly the BSW Techniques lowered the stress levels in the students; even in a school in a known gang infested location. Three weeks was the consistent pivot week in the 22-week program. That is when the children willingly participated in the pilot project and proceeded to recruit other children and siblings without us asking or expecting that action to happen. The young students volunteered that the techniques had ended their belief that they were never going to survive having survived a school or neighborhood shooting. Their fears of being a witness to gun crimes were effectively reduced enough to result in the students voluntarily uniting in discussing their eyewitness experiences. The participating headcount went up 403% in the first 3 weeks. These are the same BSW Techniques that are used for witnesses of all ages. Even teachers volunteered their own personal improvement from being onlookers to training the students. The school administrators stated they want this program to be state-wide.
